  Streets of Bridgeton

Brigton's fabulous and famous 'umbrella' in all its glory on a fine April's day 2006
Bridgeton Cross's best known landmark is its 50ft high cast iron Umbrella, complete with clock tower, originally built to shelter the unemployed in 1875.

Bridgeton Cross early in its history used to be a Toll point
and to this day we locals still refer to it as "the Toll"
