Baltic Street was formed on ground acquired by Baltic Jute Works Co, who built extensive factories here.
It was a very long street in Bridgeton and ran north to south between Heron Street and Summerfield Street.

" I was stationed in Holy Loch in the early 70's and met my wife there. She is a Canadian. Her mother grew up on Baltic Street and she always told me stories of the place. You have kept a good piece of history alive by starting this website. It is too bad that all those beautiful old buildings were destroyed in the name of progress. Keep up the good work and we will keep on visiting"
Oct.2002, Extract from e-mail, Nessie Martinez (nee Mercer), Washington, USA.
" I lived at 210 and 224 Baltic Street and went to Dalmarnock School with my sisters May and Joan.1945-1952. I could write a book about time spent there and a good one at that"
May.2015, e-mail, Ruth Hoyles  (nee Graham), age 85, Stockport, England
