I attended Dovehill for about a year or so around the fifties, and
found an old pal from there on friends reunited, I can only remember
a few names of kids who attended the School one being my pal
Sally, others Marie Chapman, another wee girl called Linda ? boy's
name George Andrews ? thats all I can remember at the moment, one
thing that sticks in my mind is a colouring competition and I'm
pretty sure it was Marie Chapman who won it but could be wrong such
a long time ago,think the prize was a toy Kangaroo,funny I don't
remember one teachers name.
I attended the School around 1956/57? maybe a wee bit either side,
it's been so long ago, I think there was a shower block in the
School? when I was there, it was a good wee School I enjoyed my time
there very much

One teacher I remember as she was such a darling was Miss
Howie, and the principal at the time was Mrs. Wright (spelling). I
used to be scared to death of her until one day I was called to her
office, and for the life of me can't remember why, she showed me
pictures of her grandchildren and it became clear to me then that
she was actually human. lol There was also a teacher, Mr. Carson,
white haired. I was probably at Dovehill around 1937 - 1942.
