Projects in the area are :-
 
#  The construction of a new state of the art primary school - see Dalmarnock Primary School website  A new purpose built school which can accommodate 450 pupils, work started in 2006 and is now completed.

A £25 million National Athletics Arena.
A world class 5,000 seater national indoor sports arena  to be built at Springfield Road / Gailes Street in Dalmarnock. Once completed it will allow Glasgow to host future major sporting events. The new facility will also be used to develop the talents of youngsters. The stadium is due for completion in 2008.

 # Clyde Gateway 
Over 2000 acres of land between Bridgeton Cross, Parkhead Cross and Farme Cross has been earmarked for development that will bring economic regeneration to Glasgow's east end. The project will take between 15 and 20 years to complete. work has already begun with new businesses and planning consent approved for new housing developments. Targets include :-
  
10,000 new homes  --   Increase the areas population by 20,000
   Support the creation of 22,000 new jobs  --   Generate £1.6 billion of new investment.

 # Bridgeton Cross 
A lighting consultant has been appointed to produce a lighting design for the Umbrella. The architectural features of the dome and the clock tower will be lit as part of the council's lighting strategy. Existing street lighting in the surrounding area will be upgraded.
