London Road  Secession Church, jcn of Brook St. Bridgeton, 1837

London Road United Presbyterian Church, 1875

London Road St. Clement's Church of Scotland, 1950

Originally London Road United Secession church, it opened on London Road at junction of Brook Street in August 1837.
It subsequently became a United Free church and London Road United Presbyterian Church in1875.
Then in 1950 on uniting with the Church of Scotland's St Clement's (also on Brook Street) it became known as London Road St Clement's Church of Scotland
It closed in 1967 and went into union with Bridgeton & Newhall, becoming Bridgeton Parish Church
The church was destroyed by fire about 1967 while in the process of being sold off.
The site was latterly occupied by a filling station at the corner of London Rd and Brook St.

August 2004, Extract from email, John Paton, age 51yrs, Australia,
".............. the church on the corner of London Rd & Brook Street had the 106th BB and this is where I went to Sunday school, shipmates, lifeboys and the BB. till it closed down in 1967.

Then I went to St Francis in the east church where I joined the 228th BB being captained by Neil Dunn who as you said Webmaister was a top bloke I was there till 1970 and it was one of the best times in my life.
When I left Dalmarnock school I went to Bernard Street school........... I phoned my old man on Sunday to get him to look out as many photos as he can find, of the B.B. and my old schools if they are any good I will scan them and email them to you........

Mar. 2019, email, Elizabeth Norton, age 80yrs, Palm Beach, USA
Found a copy of my parents wedding certificate. They were married in St Clemons Church in July 1934
Their names were Sarah and David Dickson. So nice to see some pictures of the old church
