BRIDGETON CROSS  Railway Station, page 1

London Road at Bridgeton Cross, Dalmarnock Road is the junction on the right at the white car.

Bridgeton Cross Station
This company was originally run by the Caledonian Railway Company until the early 1920s when it became the London and Midland Scottish Railways (LMS). The original station was a victim of the dreaded 'Beechings' Campaign, and was closed in the early sixties, but with the inauguration of Clyde Rail in 1979, the line was re opened and a refurbished station (now just known as Bridgeton) was opened.  It serves trains from Motherwell, Hamilton Circle and Dalmuir lines.

Bridgeton Central was a terminus but with the opening of the new Argyle line, the new Bridgeton Cross station was re-opened, Nov.1979, and trains were now able to go through Bridgeton to Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Motherwell,
Coatbridge and indeed all the way to Lanark
.

Let me take you down stairs, down to the platform....
