I decided it was time to sort out my affairs.

a) Get a will organised..............done

b) Purchase a burial lair............done

Rutherglen Cemetery
March 2003 purchased burial lair.  Lair 389  Section V
I hope not be using it for many years to come!  C'mon pals ahve 'no got a death wish ah just think arranging your funeral is something we are not very good at and the preferred option is not to talk about it, which is wrong.  When my Mother died in 1995, being the eldest, everything was left to me to arrange and quite honestly I hadn't a clue and looking back I wish I had done some things differently.

Anyway I have organised things as best as I can, I can now move on and get on with life!

A nice touch is that one of my best pals Jas Turnbull purchased the lair next down to mines, V390

.

“I am standing on the seashore. A ship in the bay lifts his anchor, spreads his white sails to the morning breeze and starts upon the ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch him until he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky mingle with each other.  Then someone at my side says ‘He’s gone! ‘Gone where? Gone from view, that is all. Just at that moment there are other eyes watching him coming and other souls taking up the glad shout, ‘ There, he’s coming! ‘ And that is dying. “
.

Famous Glasgow Comedian and a great favourite of mine, Jimmy Logan wrote this (2001):-

"Remember me - by the laughter, not the tears,
Remember me - for the joy and fun we shared
through all the happy years
Please think of me, if you will, with a smile
When we all shared jokes - and laughed
At things we did a wee bit daft
If you smile – and if you laugh
sing songs, share fun and joy,
then I will join you in the toast
And if you want to think of me
Lift up your glass so I can share
Enjoy yourselves, And I'll be there."
